I am the brand

At 21, some may call me in experienced in the creative industry!!! Would you consider a 3rd year Marketing, Advertising and PR student inexperienced? Or would you consider that I would bring new and exciting ideas to the table.

Being able to define myself as an individual employable professional has been my goal from the start. My enthusiasm for the creative industry is clear to see through my pursuit in gaining a career within the industry. My interest has stemmed from early childhood where TV advertising captivated my mind, this has since transpired into the desire to persue a carreer within the the creative industry.

being able to seperate me with the rest of the  employable world would be my unique and creative mind, which i showed on multiple counts with the charity fire walk. My constant want and need to better myself continually imporves my performance. Everybody has a creative streak in them but my ability to communicate my ideas is second to none, which I feel could and should be used to create links between consumers and brands, which was shown clearly in how successful the charity fire walk was.

Unfortunately there is this preconceived idea that we live in a world that to succeed it’s not what you know it’s who you know ... but I do not believe in this. Hard work, core values and enthusiasm is the key to my personal success. With this in mind I have worked hard at ensuring that I maintain these key characteristics through continual academic performance as well as participating in many extracurricular activities that I felt would benefit my transformation from student to professional.

Related experience

As most young boy's do, sport quickly takes over their lives, I was no exception. From a very early age I was quickly involved with taking on responsibilities such as leadership through sport. Throughout my sporting years I have transformed from leading a team as a captain to managing a team as well as organising social events to just being a responsible figure within the society. This then led to being voted in in as the vice chairman of the university of Worcester men’s football society. Being vice chairman was a huge role to undertake as it meant that I was directly in charge of 2 teams, 16 committee members and 127 members. I feel this has enabled me to show case my organisational skills as well as my ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide variety of people. As a successful captain, it showed that I could be trusted to manage a large group of people and that trust has been echoed by the fact that I was elected for vice-chairman.

During my extra time at university I helped organise a charity event for Sight Concern Worcester. I was in charge of public relations and marketing the event, both internally to all students and externally to the public. The event was a fire walk; we had 52 participators as well as raising over £2000. My duties included designing media releases for the local papers as well as designing and implementing the advertising for the event. I also helped with the general marketing of the campaign, through raising sponsorship and getting people to participate with the event.

As a complete business and creative minded package, I feel that this self-confessed arrogance is actually strong self believe because without it, success will be hard to come by.
